I have been running off and on since the age of 14. Earned state records in the high jump and hurdles in high school and best mile time was 5:20. Now as I'm older run 5K and longer. First marathon was Honolulu in 1997 in 4:16 with Team in Training. Have run 2 more since, but slower times. I am now 47 yrs. old.
Short-Term Running Goals:
I am running Chicago in Oct. and would like to run it in 4hrs. and qualify for Boston. I ran the ING Ga. Half Marathon this past March in 1:59 with only a couple months of training. I would also like to run New York the next yr. I am hoping to get my 5K time down around 21- 22 minutes again.
Long-Term Running Goals:
I would like to travel and run several different marathons around the country and possibly throughout the world. I want to stay in the best shape I can for as long as I can.
Personal:
I have been a nurse for 22 yrs. and have been married to the same wonderful guy for 23 yrs. We have three sons 21, 19, and 16. I am the only one who loves running. I have been the Cross Country and Track Booster Club pres. for the last 4 yrs. and Asst. lay coach for the track team for hurdles at my sons high school. I earned my Level 1 coaching certificate for the USATF and would like to eventually get involved in coaching again. I was the event director for a 5k to earn money for the XC team at the high school this past May.
Ran an easy 26:33. I'm getting a little of the spring back in my legs after running the 22 miles.
